Bringing the Community Together & Disrupting Anti-Semitism and Discrimination

We are of and for the community.

Vision: Routt Won’t STAND for Hate

It is in our community’s character to care about our neighbors. Everyone has a role to play in disrupting hate and discrimination.

Mission: STAND works to disrupt hate and promote anti-discrimination through education, policy change, partnerships, and positively influencing the next generation.

Our Story

STAND held its first convening in February 2023 in response to an increase in reported hate symbols and bias incidents in our community. While these incidents were not unique to Steamboat or Routt Country, there was an overwhelmingly positive response to these events from individuals, the school district, law enforcement and community leaders to answer the question, “How can we help?”

STAND was born of, for and by the community to foster positivity, awareness and inclusion with the goal of offering education, resources and community response protocols to help combat bias and discrimination. STAND strives to create connections and a support network within the wider Steamboat community and to lay the framework for impactful community initiatives and programs.

STAND was founded by The Jewish Congregation of Steamboat Springs ‘Har Mishpacha’, a Colorado 501(c)(3).
